Before you buy

Do I need a permit to set up a container?

For a storage container placed temporarily on commercial premises, you usually do not need a permit. As soon as people spend time in it on a permanent basis, for example in an office or living container, or the placement is permanent, a building permit is generally required. What applies depends on the federal state, the duration and the use; the binding answer always comes from your local building authority. We supply the technical documents for the application.

How much does a container cost?

There is no fixed price: it depends on size, condition grade, equipment and delivery distance. A used wind- and watertight 20 ft container and a brand-new fitted office container can differ in price many times over. Tell us the intended use and the location, and you will receive a concrete quote instead of a price range.

Is advice available before I buy?

Yes, call or write to us – we advise you free of charge and without obligation on size, condition and delivery, even if it does not lead to an order.

Size and type

What is the difference between 20 ft and 40 ft containers?

A 20 ft container is around 6.06 m long and holds about 33 m³, a 40 ft container is twice as long at around 12.19 m and holds about 76 m³ – with the same width and height under ISO standard. A 20 ft model is usually enough for smaller quantities; for large stock or as the basis for a conversion, the 40 ft container pays off.

When is a 10 ft container enough?

For compact quantities: tools, materials or moving goods that do not need a whole standing area. At around 16 m³, a 10 ft container also fits where space on the property is limited.

What is a high-cube container?

A high-cube container is about 30 cm taller than the standard model and so offers noticeably more internal volume on the same footprint – useful for stacking tall or bulky goods.

What do "new" and "used" mean for your containers?

"New" means brand-new, unused containers. For used containers, condition follows clearly named grades, from light cosmetic wear to purely functional units – the matching grade is stated with every listing.

What is an open-side container?

On these models, a complete side wall opens in addition to the end door – useful when bulky goods do not fit through the narrower standard door, or when there is little room to manoeuvre.

Renting or buying

Buy or rent: which makes sense when?

From around twelve to eighteen months of use, buying works out cheaper than renting. A used container also keeps a resale value. For fixed-term projects, seasonal peaks or if you do not want to tie up capital, renting is the better choice.

How long can I rent a container for?

From a few weeks to several years: the rental period follows your project, not the other way round.

What is included with a rental?

We organise delivery, placement and, if you want, later collection; the containers come serviced from our own stock and are fitted out to your needs.

Which containers can I rent?

Storage, office, living and sanitary containers are all available to rent, fitted out to your needs.

How do I get a rental quote?

Describe the intended use and time period on the Rental page or in the contact form, and we will suggest the right solution along with a price.

Prices and costs

How much does a 20 ft container cost?

Prices for our shipping containers range from around €925 for smaller models to around €2,200 for fitted special versions; a 20 ft standard container usually falls in the middle of that range.

How much does a 40 ft container cost?

Due to their larger volume, 40 ft models usually sit at the upper end of the shipping container price range, from around €1,900.

Do the listed prices include VAT?

Yes, all prices on the website include the statutory VAT of 19%.

What does shipping cost?

Standard shipping is free and takes 7 to 10 working days. If you are in more of a hurry, express shipping is available for €199 with a delivery time of 4 to 5 working days.

Is there a minimum order value for free shipping?

No, standard shipping is free regardless of the order value.

Do you provide quotes for larger quantities?

Yes, for larger quantities or special requirements we put together an individual quote via the Request a quote page.

Delivery and placement

What kind of ground is needed?

The container must rest level and firmly on all four corner castings. Compacted gravel, concrete slabs or strip foundations are sufficient. What matters is an even distribution of the load: if the container stands at an angle, the doors jam and the frame becomes permanently distorted.

How much space does the delivery vehicle need?

For a 20 ft container, allow around 20 metres of straight approach and a passage width of at least 3.5 metres. When the container is set down by crane, you also need about 6 metres of clear height above the standing area, free of branches, cables or canopies. Describe the access to us in advance and we will choose the right vehicle.

How long does delivery take?

We deliver containers from our stock free of charge within 7 to 10 working days with standard shipping, or within 4 to 5 working days with express shipping for €199. Custom builds (special equipment, RAL paint finish or extensive fit-out) usually take around three weeks; the binding date is stated in the quote.

Do you also deliver to Austria?

Yes, we deliver to Germany and Austria.

Payment and ordering

What payment methods do you offer?

Prepayment by bank transfer and credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) over a secure connection.

How secure is paying by credit card?

Card payments are processed over a secure connection using 3-D Secure.

Do I get an invoice?

Yes, you automatically receive an invoice as a PDF with your order confirmation.

Do I get an order confirmation by email?

Yes, you receive a confirmation by email immediately after ordering, invoice included.

Can I order as a guest, without creating an account?

Yes, a customer account is not required – ordering as a guest works just like ordering with an account.

Use and maintenance

Does condensation form inside a container?

Yes. When temperatures change, moisture settles on the steel roof, known in the trade as container rain. Ventilation grilles, roof insulation or desiccants help. If you are storing moisture-sensitive goods, plan for this from the start.

Can a container be converted later?

Yes. Doors, windows, partition walls, electrics, insulation and coatings can all be installed. Bear in mind that every opening cut into a side wall weakens the load-bearing structure and, depending on its size, needs reinforcement, especially if containers are to be stacked.

How do I look after a container?

Steel containers need little maintenance. An annual visual check for rusted-through spots, greasing the door locks and keeping the roof clear of standing leaves are worthwhile. Touch up small paint damage before rust spreads underneath.

Returns and warranty

Can I cancel my order?

Yes, as a consumer you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, without giving a reason.

Do I have to use the model withdrawal form?

No, the form is a convenience; an informal, unambiguous statement is just as valid.

How long is the warranty?

The statutory warranty period of two years applies.

What do I do if the container was damaged in transit?

Check the goods on delivery and note any visible transport damage on the delivery note; report the damage to us promptly so we can settle it with the carrier.
